The Tesseract is the Evangelion Unit-01's prison in Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo.
History[]
Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo[]
Located in somewhere above Earth, it was a three dimensional, cross-shaped, coffin-like structure that acts as a prison to Unit-01. It was guarded by an Evangelion Mark.04A and Evangelion Mark.04B, which are deployed in order to stop Asuka's and Mari's attempt to recover Unit-01. It falls from orbit after the rescue mission is successful.
Trivia[]
- The TesseractWP in real-life, geometric terms refers to the four-dimensional analog of the cube (represented visually as a cube inside of a larger cube, with additional edges connecting each vertex of the interior cube to the nearest vertex of the exterior cube).
- The tesseract depicted here is in fact a three-dimensional "net" of a tesseract, which basically is unfolding the four-dimensional tesseract into three dimensions, in a process similar to unfolding a three-dimensional box into a two-dimensional figure.
