Sore o Nasumono: Neon Genesis Evangelion Concept Design Works (それをなすもの―「新世紀エヴァンゲリオン」コンセプトデザインワークス?) is an artbook series based on the Neon Genesis Evangelion and Neon Genesis Evangelion: Iron Maiden. It is written and illustrated by Ikuto Yamashita and Kio Seiji. It was published on 25 March 1998 by Kadokawa Shoten with 143 pages in total.

Overview[]

The book is a collection of illustrations by Ikuto Yamashita, the mecha designer of the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise and Seiji Kio, his assistant. It contains a large number of production drawings, whether for the Evangelions, but also certain elements of the setting such as the GeoFront and its installations. The book is not limited to just the TV series since it also contains concept art of the production of video game Neon Genesis Evangelion: Iron Maiden, particularly the T•RIDEN•T Land Cruiser. Sore o Nasumono also contains interviews with Hideaki Anno, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and Kazuya Tsurumaki. The book contains a summary of proposed ending for the television series and original movie pitch with concept art and story.
