Shinkalion 500 TYPE EVA (シンカリオン 500 TYPE EVA?) is a Shinkalion appearing in the episode 31 of Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion THE ANIMATION and the Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion the Movie: The Marvelous Fast ALFA-X That Comes From the Future film.

Shinkalion 500 TYPE EVA is a bipedal robot whose body is composed of different parts of the 500 TYPE EVA train that is similar to Evangelion Unit-01. There are several characteristic elements of the Evangelion, most notably are the helmet and "collar" which are nearly identical to that of Unit-01. The colors of Unit-01: purple and green with black details are also present.
Shinkalion 500 TYPE EVA is 28.5 meters high and weighs 123 tons. It is formed by more than four wagons. Like Unit-01, Shinkalion 500 TYPE EVA is able to generate an A.T. Field in addition to handling many weapons such as Signal Spear and Missile Shield. It can turn into the Shinkalion 500 TYPE EVA (Shinkansen Mode).

History[]
While Hayato Hayasugi is in Tokyo-3, a mysterious creature appears: Kingshitoel. Hayato boards Shinkalion E5 Hayabusa to fight it, but is unable to reach him due to his A.T. Field. To help him, Shinji Ikari arrives aboard Shinkalion 500 TYPE EVA. The two robots join forces and rush towards the enemy. But that is still not enough to break through the Angel's barrier. To overcome this, Shinji borrows his teammate's turnstile sword and combines it with his own weapon before launching several missiles at the enemy to distract him. Shinji then uses Shinkalion 500 TYPE EVA’S A.T. Field to pierce the Angel's defense and lodge his weapon into the diamond above the Angel’s head thus removing it’s A.T. Field and leaving it open to attack. Shinji then allows Hayato to deliver the final blow to the enemy who is annihilated by a Gran Cross blast without further difficulty.
In the Shinkalion the Movie, the battle scene plays out much the same, although it takes place in a dream and the pair fail to defeat Kingshitoel before Hayato awakens. In the final battle of the movie, a weapon clash between Valdor, Hayato, and his father drew Shinji and the Shinkalion 500 Type EVA from a ball of light, whereas Shinji struck Valdor with his Signal Spear, knocking him back into range of Snow Godzilla. With the kaiju's help (atomic breath), Valdor was finished off with an Ultimate Gran Cross from Hayato and his father. Afterward, Snow Godzilla, the 500 Type EVA, and all the other alternate dimensioners returned to their worlds.
