Shigeto Koyama (コヤマシゲト, Koyama Shigeto?), born on 02 December 1975, in Tokyo, Japan, is an illustrator and mecha designer.
He got his start in the industry by participating in Aim for the Top 2! (Diebuster) in 2004. Since then, he's participated in some of the most popular anime titles of the last 20 years. Some of these titles include; HEROMAN, Eureka Seven, GURREN LAGANN, STAR DRIVER, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Rebuild of Evangelion and KILL la KILL.
Initially, he wanted to become a product designer due to the influence of his family working at Shiseido. This influence was so strong that he was involved in the overall design process from the planning stage and worked on various conceptual designs such as characters and world settings. After "HEROMAN" and "Panty & Stockings with Garterbelt", he gave his opinion on color design, cinematography, and fonts, and for "STAR DRIVER: The Radiance of the Battlestar", Koyama worked on the original draft of the silhouettes and details, and the animation director checked the setting drawings drawn by the animators.
He has often stated that he was influenced by Mamoru Nagano, and that he was influenced by American comics. He also has a deep knowledge of American comics, which was a factor in his participation in HEROMAN.
