"Kyou no Hi wa Sayounara" (今日の日はさようなら, "Today is the Time for Goodbye or Farewell for Today"?) is a song composed by Shouichi Kaneko for singer Ryōko Moriyama in 1967. It was featured in the soundtrack of the film Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance released in 2009, where it is performed by Megumi Hayashibara .
It was published on the album Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance Original Soundtrack under the title "Kyou no Hi wa Sayounara". In the second disc of the special edition of this album, an extended version of this song is available under the title "Kyou no Hi wa Sayounara - Tribute to "Sound of Music"".
In the film, it plays when the dummy system takes over Evangelion Unit-01 during the battle against the Ninth Angel.
