A brainwashed Hikari in Neon Genesis Evangelion: ANIMA.

In Neon Genesis Evangelion: ANIMA, Hikari is now 17. She is involved in the war between the European Coalizion Army and the NERV JAPAN - she's initially brainwashed by the NERV Germany branch in order to pilot the Evangelion EURO-II Heurtebise. Later, as she is released from her brainwashing, she senses the soul's imprint inside the Heurtebise (part of Asuka's mother) and she decides to stay with the NERV Germany as a collaborator.

Despite her loyalties, she is shown to have a romantic relationship with Tōji Suzuhara and be good friends with Rei Six, saving her from being killed by Armaros, however, she is later the subject of mind contamination by Armaros.
