Groundwork of EVANGELION Vol.1 (エヴァンゲリオンアニメーション原画集 Vol.1, Evangelion animēshon genga-shū Vol.1^?) is an artbook published by GAINAX on 14 October 2000 and republished digitally by Groundworks Co., ltd. on 07 June 2020. It features the original drawings of the TV series Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Overview[]

Volume 1 contains about 700 original drawings from the TV series' opening sequence and episodes 1, 2, 5, 7, and 8. Color illustrations published in magazines and their original drawings are also included.^[1]

The 2020 version includes 22 color pages that were not present in the original release.
