Overview[]

Sony Magazines[]

On 15 July 2006, Sony Magazines launched the bi-monthly Evangelion Chronicle to mark the tenth anniversary of the Evangelion franchise. Inside, a lot of information provided by Gainax informs the reader about various elements of the Neon Genesis Evangelion series. The data is provided in classified cards and can be detached and perforated to be stored in binders. Official binders were sold separately for 1,600 yen. The magazine finished its publication on 15 September 2007 with the thirty issue.

Later the encyclopedia is published in two volumes by We've Inc. editions under the titles THE ESSENTIAL EVANGELION CHRONICLE SIDE A and THE ESSENTIAL EVANGELION CHRONICLE SIDE B

There are three binders for storing Evangelion Chronicles cards:

  • File No. 00
    • Mechanic Sheets - The Evangelions, the Angels and more generally the "mechanical" elements.
    • Character Sheets - Characters from the TV series.
  • File No. 01
    • Timeline Sheets - The episodes of the television series.
    • Tactics Sheets - Major Events, Tactical Operations and Technical Operations.
    • Installation Sheets - Places and Organizations.
    • Technology Sheets - The technological elements.
  • File No. 02
    • Extra Sheets

DeAgostini[]

On 19 January 2010, the DeAgostini Japan publishing house reissued the magazine in weekly format with revised and corrected information. On 26 August 2010, ten new, never-before-seen issues of the magazine were announced in conjunction with the release of the film Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance. They provide additional information related to content from the Rebuild of Evangelion film series as well as the spin-off Petit Eva: Evangelion@School. New categories for sorting records were also created.
