Evangelion α (エヴァンゲリオン α, Evangerion Alpha?) is an Evangelion appearing in the Stage Evangelion Beyond stage play. It was piloted by Toma Kano.

The development of the Evangelion dates back to a project that was undertaken by Saneyuki Kano as chief executive officer before the founding of MENSCH. In addition to previous research on the Adam Capsule (アダムカプセル?) used in that project, development proceeded based on knowledge gained from investigating the craters that had formed in the disaster area. Development was extremely difficult, including securing pilots, but after 11 years, Evangelion α was completed.[2]
