Evangelion: Breaking Dawn was an officially-licensed mobile action game created by Sina Games, based on the Rebuild of Evangelion film series. The player collects several Evangelions and different mecha to play battles from the first two films: Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone and Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, It also features playable Evangelions/Mecha from Neon Genesis Evangelion: ANIMA.
The Asian version (Google Play, Chinese) of this game was removed on 13 June 2020 due to the constant decrease in players. An announcement was made on 12 May 2020, informing players that servers would be shut down on 12 June 2020. However, the actual time of shutdown turned out to be the next day. The game is present on the store but unavailable to download.
Overview[]
The player went through the stories and battles from the films Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone and Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, which the player collected items such as armour parts, Evangelion or character fragments to unlock different Evangelions and characters. Players were required to reach a certain level before they could unlock the upcoming levels.
Each Evangelion and character had a rarity ranking: Normal→ Rare Super Rare→Specially Super Rare→Ultra Rare. The ease of obtaining those fragments varied from their rarity. Fragments could be used to unlock or leveling-up Evangelions and characters. Characters provided additional support to their respective Evangelion units.
The game featured an arena, which players around the world challenged their battle skills. Each player sent three Evangelion units and three respective support weapons for battle. Upon completing or winning a certain amount of battles, players were awarded money, diamonds and Evangelion fragments (Normal-Rare). Results were concluded at the end of each month. Prizes and titles (Activation for 25 days) were distributed to players of different arena rankings, including diamonds and Super Rare and Specially Super Rare Evangelion fragments.
Players could also join guilds which they could enjoy various advantages such as guild points for purchasing different valuables, 'research' to create fragments, and participated in the guild war every Saturday 20:00 (for timezone GMT +8).
