Commander Nikolayev (ニコラエフ司令官?) is a fictional character from Neon Genesis Evangelion RPG: The NERV White Paper game.

Nikolayev is the Commander of the NERV base located in Russia.
Commander Nikolayev appears to be open and friendly, although it is unclear if this is just a facade. Initially, questions are raised about whether this attitude is genuine or simply a mask.
At first, Nikolayev decides to decline the help of NERV's Japanese headquarters regarding the Angel Iblis. The fact that he refuses external help suggests an attitude of independence and confidence in his own abilities and strategies.
Additionally, this could indicate a possible distrust in your interactions with others and the possibility that you have hidden agendas.

Neon Genesis Evangelion RPG: The NERV White Paper[]
The Angel Iblis is found by the NERV Russian Branch, in an area of Siberia near the border with China. The target was moving towards East, but the visual was eventually lost. This information was relayed to NERV Japanese Branch on September 09, 2015.
At first, Nikolayev rejects NERV Japanese Branch assistance in combating the new Angel. Unfortunately, the Russian forces' attempt to contain Iblis fails miserably as the Angel's combat skills were beyond what they expected.
Depending of the players choice, a possible war could break out on Siberia with Russia willing to test modified N² weapons developed by the Russian army. If the conflict happens, Iblis will not be affected in a negative way, in fact it will become stronger.
